Revelation Enlists BirdDog PTZ Camera in Virtual Commencement Ceremony

On Tuesday, March 31, Revelation was honored and humbled to have been a part of the University of Massachusetts Medical School Virtual Commencement. The ceremony, captured by PTZ cameras, graduated 135 students, and took place two months earlier than planned to allow these new doctors to enter the workforce immediately during the COVID-19 crisis.
The ceremony took place minus all attendees, including the graduates themselves! Vice Provost of Student Affairs, Sonia Chimienti, announced graduates’ names as Chancellor Michael Collins conferred their degrees. Governor Charlie Baker provided a statement to the class remotely as well. The graduates watched the live stream broadcast ceremony via Zoom or Facebook Live.

For the filming of the ceremony, Revelation’s choice PTZ camera was the BirdDog P200 NDI PTZ. The camera is an all-around favorite because of its ease-of-use and unmatched quality, perfectly paired with the PTZ Keyboard.
For this particular event, timing was especially critical. Due to safety regulations and social distancing measures, the crew had to minimize the set-up and take-down times. Revelation’s Technology Director, Steve Allard, said these cameras were especially useful because of their straightforward assembly, “less cabling with Power over Ethernet (PoE), and the use of our existing network.”
